P-47M 56thFG 62ndFS Maj Mike Quick
« on: December 06, 2023, 05:55:52 PM »
This is an adoption of Fencer's P-47M; I tried to keep as much of his original work as was practical.  I did change the camo colors to the same ones I used on a RAF P-51B I did a while back; those shades had already been vetted here.  Not much info on pilot or airframe, other than it was damaged on 2 May 45 in collision with P-47M 44-21210 while taxying at Boxted.

Beautiful. This will also be useful for the upcoming scenario.

So would Gabreski's D-25(hint, hint)

Hey that’s nice!
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

Thanks guys.   Very interesting, a scenario with Gabreski's P-47D-25 AND a P-47M?   Details please!   Will the each frame cover a progressively later time period?

It's still in the early design stage, but yes, that's the plan. Most squads will receive an upgrade as time progresses. The 56th is pretty much locked in on the Allied side.

Sounds promising.  Where's Hajo anyway?  He should be on cloud 9 with this setup...
