Ah, I see.
Is Lagarith codec something I can download?
Ya, you can DL it here. You prolly want the 32 and 64 bit version.
https://lags.leetcode.net/codec.htmlI'm sure somewhere there are other codecs just as good, it's the hunt for finding them and testing them that can be a PITA.
The only change I get in quality now is simply down-scaling from .AVI to .MP4.
I used up almost 1T of space making this last video in all AVI format clips, and it's not even rendered yet. Which will be 1G as MP4 format OR 234G as AVI.
The reason I have to do more work on quality with mine is my monitor is old, maxes out at 60 refresh rate, which means I can't turn my vid card up past 1920x1080. SO I'm making 2560x1440 videos on a 1920x1080 monitor. Total PITA.
The reason I use Bandicam is, it's straight out of the box easy and doesn't ruin quality. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles to capture. There are certain settings, as with anything, that makes it better than default. But this way, using the film viewer to record my stuff, Bandicam for AHFV screen capture, and Vegas to edit, I have a lot of options, as extremely NOT intuitive the AHFV is. Using AHFV, when ya get to know it, you can click on names in the AHFV and enter their cockpit or do other scenes with and angles with other AC, this way, scenes are not all just single player type vids. While AHFV does work well, it's got to be one of the worst GUIs I've seen in a long time. Ya just have to toy with it and get to know it and it's limitations.
If you're just making straight in straight out videos, damn near anything works.
If you're using just a game screen capture to do all your recordings, you only capture what you do in that plane at that time, what is on the screen is what ya get. Which certainly doesn't make them bad, some are killer. You're just not going to get custom angles. That said, not everyone does the type of videos I do, attempting cinematic.
