Minimum Number of Sorties or Kills to Rank

In baseball you must have a minimum number of at-bats to win the batting title.

I think the scoring in AH needs something similar.  Minimum 50 sorties or 50 kills, otherwise you are locked out of the top 50.

It's far too easy to game the system over the short run.  Five sorties is enough to crack the top 10 as it is.

If everyone can do it, and the end result means literally nothing.. why change it?  You are basically saying someone has to invest more time in the game to compete in a statistical category that is irrelevant.


If it means that much, maybe have triple the points on kills, assists, etc if you are flying a 30ENY plane or higher. Kills per time and points is what wins you scoring in fighters.  If I can up a sortie and get x amount of points in a la7, or xX3 in a p47, score wise, I'm takin the jug.

Would get some folks to bust out some hangar queens.

Your request is basically just asking people to fly more.

Not happening, doesnt serve a purpose.

If you want to score higher in fighters, kill more and kill it faster.  That simple.  You will easily outscore the guy that gets 49 kills with 0 deaths in the first week of the tour and then doesn't touch a fighter sortie.

Field gunner deaths/kills/scoring are in need of much more attention.

Whose scoring were you comparing to start this post out of curiosity?

I don't compete for score.  Well, last month I did just to beat Violator using the very method I am advocating against in this thread.

The scoring system is easily gamed with the current numbers--making it less relevant than it has ever been.  My proposal might bring a little balance and context to the proceedings.

Minimum kills would make more sense than minimum sorties.  But then what about categories that don't rely on kills? 

50 sorties per category would require a LOT of time.  I had 81 total sorties in 16 hours last tour. 

I'm on the fence.  I have always kind of agreed there needed to be some guidelines to that, though.

Just for the record, last tour less than 30% of all players did fly 50 or more sorties in fighter mode (and about 33% did fly less tan 10 sorties)
