Got muted twice last week.    Both times in the early evening ( one was a Friday or Saturday night),  for using a term I thought was generally acceptable.   It didn't want to make me watch what I say,  it made me shut off the game eventually then go play elsewhere.   I wasn't even upset when I did.     I know the admins have their hands full,   but muting someone for saying the slang of the word below which is basically referenced daily/hourly,  not even spelled explicitly and trying to be funny just kills the game more.   You admins know what and where things need to be fixed to make the game better.    I was using the pooooooosaaaay term.  Spelled as such.

If I am way off on this,  let me know.       Just my thoughts.

From the US Dictionary:       popsicle is short for the adjective “pusillanimous” which literally (yes, it belongs here) means to describe something as cowardly, fearful, or timid, or lacking courage. Shortening pusillanimous to popsicle is no different than shortening legitimate to legit for convenience sake.

I feel ya. As you know this crap is the reason I don't play anymore.

What's better is soon the maroons who say. "Well I've never been muted" (who are most likely mods) will show up here shortly and tell you why it's your fault and that you're out of line.

It's not your use of words. It's if the mod finds you in his good graces.

I'm sure you've heard on range the string of profanities that somebody says when they get a bit Frosty. If my kids are in the room they say: "bad word", "bad word", "bad word", "bad word" I've reported this numerous times and nothing was ever done about it but you type something the mods don't like and you'll get muted.

On a positive note, since I've left AH and started playing IL2 full time, I've never been muted or warned for anything I've said. That said, I know the admins are active because I've seen players banned in real time for griefing so I know they are there.

So you now know it's not acceptable so don't use it

This thread and Shane's is just splitting hairs to create an issue out of nothing

Happy Friday!

I hope one day that you feel the wraith of a mod that goes off the rails Eagler and are repeatedly muted without warning or explanation. Maybe then you will understand why this keeps coming up?

Happy Friday!

Right, and if you got muted for calling someone a a homophobic slur that's also a British colloquialism for a cigarette, you'd be here claiming you were just calling him a cigarette.

You're not fooling anyone.
