This skin was requested by Devil505 for the May 2024 FSO.
P-38J-15-LO, s/n 42-104107, flown by Lt Philip Goldstein of the 49th FS, 14thFG out of Triolo, Italy in May 1944. Goldstein, who was Jewish, adorned his his aircraft with the derisive name
"JEW BOY" as an act of defiance against the Nazis he was fighting. I substituted German cross outlines for the swastikas on the nose. The circled kill marks apparently represent air-to-air kills, with the remaining indicating ground kills. Interesting that the squadron marking stripes are included on the horizontal stabilizer, I don't think I've seen that before on a '38.
