Training Arena BS

HTC and everyone,

The training arena is no longer a training arena per se but is now an out of control dueling arena.  It is an area that allows for harrassment and rude, obnoxious behavior and something needs to be done about it.

We need some way to police it.  Lunar and I were the victims of some very impolite behavior this afternoon when we were in the middle of a training session.  I had already told one individual that we did not want to duel and basically to go away.  The basic result was a complete interruption in our training.

What in Gods name do we have to do or say in there to train without interferrence by outside sources????

Please, please, PLEASE film and send the information to HTC. Not meant to say that the complaints shouldn't occur here too, but I think this info should go directly to HTC as well.

I can tell you the training corps is doing all we can to be a presence and moderating factor in the TA, but it is up to all to help police it.

It would be a shame to have this tool taken away from us because of the abuses of a few people.

Kieren is right. You need to hit the "TAB" key to pull up the text buffer and take a pic (alt + s) or film the exchange. Then send it to HTC.

They don't want to lose customers from the few obnoxious and rude pilots we have about. They will deal with repeat offenders.

I want names.  If people are being contentious amazinhunks and ruining training sessions then I want to know who it is.

Dont give me any privacy or witch hunt crap.
If someone commits an injustice towards the community, everyone in that community deserves to know about it.

Post names!

Tell ya what else Im going to do.  I will make it a habbit of dropping into the training arena every time I log on.  I will do my part to be civic and help police the arena.

I spend a good deal of time in the TA. I'll maybe go in and excercise for 20 minutes before I head to the MA, or I'll come from the MA and go there just to find fights quickly, if I'm in that kinda mood.

Now Dingy, I don't dispute what happened to you... but I must say that this hasn't happened while I've been there, and I would also venture to say that this aint the norm there.

I think the TA is easily big enough to house both  types of flying; training and dueling. In fact, the dueling almost always takes place at just one feild - as sort of anything goes fur. I see that most instructors direct their students to an away field, and go about their business unobstructed.

Of course yer gonna run into some @#$heads there from time to time... but I'd be hard pressed to think of how to go about policing this type of thing. Such is life.

I witnessed this BS the other day in the arena as well.  I generally got the impression that the pilots didn't know any better.  I suggest posting one of those "POP UP MESSAGES" when ya log into the arena that states the "rules" of the Training Arena.

Something like:

WELCOME TO THE TRAINING ARENA

THIS ARENA IS TO BE USED FOR FLIGHT TRAINING.  THIS ARENA MAY ALSO BE USED FOR PRE-ARRANGED FIGHTS.  DO NOT ENTER A FIGHT OR ATTACK SOMEONE WITHOUT THEIR PRIOR APPROVAL.

My thoughts

Perhaps try Warbirds. It, with the higher price, has less Riff Raff, much much less and more quality pilots. Whereas in Aces High, because of the low cost, attracts many Grade School to High School kids.

Oh..and yer dead wrong, btw.

Ignore Macboy. This is someone coming in to stir up trouble, pure and simple. No logical argument is going to get anywhere, because that is not the purpose of the post.

He/she should however know that his IP is logged, and that IP can be blocked at any time. For now, I would just ignore this person so he/she can go back to AGW.

turn it it to a real arena, with killshooter, and 99% of this goes away. Back when I was starting. I learned how to shoot by talking a guy into letting me shoot myself down with this tool. You can hear as well as see when your pinging someone.

He sure did.  We were originally harrassed at F1 so Lunar and I headed to F12.  The other pilot then followed us over there and despite the warnings that I would film this, just laughed and continued to bother us. He even had a buddy of his come on over to add to the chaos.

Post names!

The pilots name was Busc...when we moved to F12, he called a pilot named Drago into the fray.

I'll have Lunar send the film to Pyro.

Macboy

  I definitely fit that category.....

I knew there was a reason I've stopped spending $150 - $200 per month.  The wife reduced my allowance and forced me to come over here and fly with this much more inexperienced and immature riff raff.

....and I'm proud to be associated with them.

Awww have pity on MacBoy.  His cute little colored box only lets him play one online flight sim.  Great purchasing decision, meathead!
