Open xr toolkit for vr in aces high
« on: October 26, 2024, 01:57:26 PM »
To begin with I am using the downloaded version of the game not the steam version. in my quest 3 the graphics aren’t quite as colorful as the monitor. Does anyone know if we can use open XR tool kit with AH3? Also, I get game freezes in the headset while the game continues to play which sometimes result in a crash desktop as anyone else had this issue and if if so, how did you fix it?

in my quest 3 the graphics aren’t quite as colorful as the monitor.

I have no experience with VR so the following is about common monitor settings, thinking that a VR headset is just a wearable monitor.

So, your monitor most likely has presets named "Standard", "User", "Movie", "RPG", "FPS" etc. Some of them are more vibrant than others and if you've chosen one of the more colourful options the plain vanilla of your Quest3. Toying with the Accessibility Features may help finding the optimal colour balance for you.

From within Windows you can also calibrate your monitor, be it on the table or your head. Here's some advice:https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000194424/how-to-calibrate-lcd-panel-color-temperature-in-windows-10

I don't know if the Windows settings are universal or device dependent but in any case if you choose that route I'd recommend performing them using "Standard" preset. And of course wearing your Quest3.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

AH does not use OpenXR only steamvr

What vr setup are you using? Video card?

You won't get the same resolution and clarity in vr as you do with a monitor

I was online wth the developer of the opencomposite and the toolkit one afternoon. We tried to get AH running with opencomposite, which would make it run in openxr instead of openvr. Couldn't get that to happen. No openxr so no Toolkit. Mbucchia said it was a developer side tweak that was needed, so HT would have to do it. Not likely.
