Hypothetically, just wondering , in a parallel that universe..
« on: September 14, 2024, 11:12:32 AM »
A friend of a friend of a second cousin thrice removed happens to have around 5 long guns and around 5 pistols, all of which ( pistols )  my Uncle brought home from WW II, have to be ‘officialized’ and legalized.

What should, would, could the pudknocker in that position do?

Any suggestions will be relayed to them as ‘a little birdie told me!’ :aok

It's largely going to depend on the state and whether any are full automatic.

Depends. If they dont know they exist, dont report it. Its none of their business. Most everyone in hellinois doesnt follow the illegal rifle registration law

Lock them up in a gun safe and don't shoot anyone with one and you'll be fine..

Check your state laws.  Don't ask a cop.  Not only could they be wrong regarding firearms law (I recently experienced this), just don't ask a cop.  Other than the full-auto issue, no crime committed with one is no crime to be found.  :police:

You can own a full auto that's older than 1986 but you gotta pay a $200 tax. Unless you live in a commie state.

Nothing full auto.  He had a Luger but the Ohio clan sort of confiscated that long ago.
Housing Judge does know of them, not by my choice.
Western New York state is the location.

Last I heard you have to register a gun in New York. Don't know how "they" can claim to have come by them without lying or admitting "they" had them illegally.

You could move to Texas.

Well, moving might be in my future but my best situation is here.  Doubt I could afford Texas and time will tell about here.  LoL
There really isn't any proof he brought them back.  I do recall a note, nothing official looking, that noted the pistol selection and it’s providence, if that term is appropriate.

A little birdie told them although I think I already messed up that part. :blank:

NY gun laws are unconstitutional so legally you don't have to follow them. One might consider civil disobedience and exercise one's right to be silent.

Hmmm,  I do see a small problem for me in this scenario.
Being a will, would that not require me to stop living which would then initiate the transfer of said firearms?  And I am supposedly on a shorter than normal timeline regarding this.
I’d really like to stick around just a few more years too, a dozen sounds good.
