Agreed Perd, well said.  It's a shame really, with even just a bit of an attitude change, his legacy in this game would have been being the GOAT, IMO.  Now it'll be being kicked out for the second and final time, that's mostly what future players will hear. I spoke with him infrequently via email/pm, and never did get to train with him, but he offered and was willing to teach me some of his gunnery stuff once I returned to the game. 

That's the crappiest thing about the whole SKyrr story - he was a good instructor, I've seen some of his private vids he had where he was training squadmates how to fly and most importantly shoot like he does/did.  He could have had such a hugely positive impact on the game as an advanced trainer, if he'd been able to reign in some of the negative stuff.

I don't think it's him though. A player who never Saluted isn't going to salute now. A player who rarely flew P51s, especially Bs, isn't going to fly them now. But I know who does fly them very well, and shades a bit...

Great instructor for sure, but GOAT?.. no way  he had a lot of work to do in the defensive and since he never flew SEA events, we really don't know how well he'd do without positional awareness and unevenly matched planes like in the MA. While he was good in the MA, his K/D always indicated he had a a tough time staying alive and usually had to fly the fastest big cannon planes.

All I'm saying is, in the MA, I'd say Atlau was probably the greatest of all time in regards to actual #s and performance. And TonyJoey in the P51 was extremely hard to beat both in #s and skills in the MA so he's right up there.

I've got very fast reactions, but after seeing videos where he takes shots that called for reaction times that aren't humanly possible, I'm guessing the only way you get to shoot like him would be if he was willing to teach you how to instal the same gunnery bot.

I know some who didn’t know me between 2011 and 2022, but I had 22 yrs in these games before I left AH for a relationship and work.  But I’ve seen equal to better.

Not sure if same Grizz, but AW Grizzly and I dueled for hours, for days, helping me test damage model in AW.

May not be the same, its been a while. But I do remember a Grizz being a smoking good stick, minus the god attitude.

A lot if it comes down to stick and no abnormal bounce. Example. Watch my new vid One Live War. When I take down that C47 its easy to see my problem. Center stick is wiped out. Therefore I suck well beyond suck.

Any of the top tier pilots could fly a variety of planes with a variety of styles (but had their favorites) and handle themselves in both MA and DA. It's more a spectrum of talents and skills, where some are very specialized in some skillset(s) but may lack in others. Let's not forget that most of these flew with friends/skwads, which made surviving easier, so it's really difficult to name any one player as being GOAT. Skyyr had certain skillsets he excelled in, but lacked in others, especially with less competitive contemporaries to be measured against, so he has quite rightly been denied a place in the pantheon he so craves.  He had a chance, chose not to take it.
