First in the windows search bar type "setup USB game controllers" with out the quotes, click on the setup in the top right corner.
Select your joystick in the list and click "properties"
On the "test" tab you can see if windows "see's" all of your buttons and axis. Clicking the "setting's" tab you can calibrate your stick in windows, do so.
Now that you have checked your stick and calibrated it.....hoping nothing has come up bad.... launch the game.
Choose "off line practice"
Next goto options/controls/calibrate stick. Follow prompts to calibrate stick.
As long as that passed ok goto options/controls/map controllers
In the top drop down box click on your stick to select it.
Click the check box for advanced just above the list.
In the list the top axis is the Y axis and you need to map this to your elevator. Double click the Y axis in the list and in the pop up box click "elevators" and click ok.
Do the same for the X axis for Aileron and click OK again.
Clicking on the axis in the list will allow you to work with the advanced stuff. Moving your stick in that axis will show if the game sees it by the green lines moving up and down as you move the stick. Check both axis, remember to click the other axis in the list to see the other axis.
Try this and let us know what and where it fails IF it fails.
Good Luck!
