Communication in Game via “mic”

just a few comments on this topic to see what you all think.
In my opinion, after getting your stick, Rudder pedals and throttle a microphone is probably the most important thing you can have the reason I believe this is so you can communicate with your teammates.

1. Why do we see so many people now that just refused to communicate do they not have a microphone? Do they just not want to use it? Are they deaf or mute?
2. Being able to say you have a con on your long six high is so much more effective than hitting the check six button, it gives you a lot more time to react to a situation especially when you know where the problem is coming from.
3. That said verbal check sixes are getting pretty rare. I really keep my head on a swivel and I’m doing a lot of warning, but I do not get the same in return.
4. Number three has gotten so bad that I’ve had my own team chased somebody right up my tail during a huge furball and not even say so much as a “lookout” but meanwhile the app like crazy on 200. Yeah Skyhawk, I’m talking about you. Thankfully, having my head on a shovel kept that from ending tragically for me, but definitely indicated that he is all about getting to kill, regardless of who he endangers in the process. He was counting on his victim being visioned on me or so I believe.

OK, rant over my biggest question really is why are people communicating verbally less and less in this game?

There are players, or groups of players, that tune to their own channel. I myself tune to a channel of a group I often fly with and I hear the Range channel. SO if you're broadcasting on a different channel I won't hear it. You simply set a button to do your Check 6 calls, and it will voice it to them, as well as put it in text. This works off of who's closest to center of your view. So mic and programmed button for Check 6 calls is quite handy. A lotta player tend to look out for me because I do crazy things, so I get a lot of check 6 calls. I'm basically very quiet on comms and get in tune by listening to others and flowing with it. But then I'm conditioned to the rule of no needless chatter. <shrug>

The object of group flying is communications, looking out for each other, stick to plans and formations. If you don't have team players your mileage will vary.

The group I'm in, we all know what each other is doing minute to minute, a lot of comms flowing. If you have a good group you can work together tighter as wingman.

It's a game, not RL, so there will be peaks and valleys in communications and team spirit.

I appreciate your response. Oldmax6 and I used to use discord but i still talked on range when needed.
I have noticed two or three players whose name i won’t mention, but the are always solo and i will advise them of a bad guy “ranging them” and they react but i never get a thank you. There have been those that have typed it but that t is rare.

Sadly I am noting these players and no longer check their six for them because they are not appreciative nor do they retort in kind. Flying away after I clear their six only to have the trouble now my trouble is a whole other story lol

For me, it depends on if I am flying "normally" or using the Quest2. 
I have never been able to the things set up in VR to where people can hear me trying to talk to them.
Playing without the Quest I have my headset on and communicate as much as I can.

I use quest 2, earphones are tyhe questy, mic is a desk mic, also I use VoiceAttack, a godsend
