Fullscreen / Antialiasing/ Trees popping out of nowhere
« on: November 04, 2024, 11:01:19 AM »
Hi there! I've just created an account and I've downloaded the game after not playing for, 15 years or so?

I can't seem to get the thing to go fullscreen, and anti-aliasing, whilst checked on, has no slider or other option. I'm also having trees and tree shadows popping up right next to the aircraft as I'm flying, but I think I have all of the sliders already maxed out.

I appreciate AH3 is an old game, is there any way to tweak things to get a bit more basic functionality out of it, graphics wise?

That sounds very odd. While AH is an old game you can tell by how the game functions as it is kept up to date.

The game automatically works in full screen, it can not be played in "windows mode". Antialiasing can be dependent on your graphics card. Run a DXdiag report and copy and paste the top 30-40 percent of the text version here (the whole thing wont fits in one post as its too big and the important stuff is in the first 30-40% anyway).

Once we see what you are working with we can help you to set things up for your computer.

Does the video setting match your monitor resolution? Try running default settings to start and set environment mapping to none.

To enter full screen mode, you can try pressing Alt + Enter or checking the game's graphics settings. Regarding anti-aliasing, some older games may not have detailed adjustment options, but you can check your graphics card to make sure it's using the most optimal settings.

Depending on what graphics card you have...check your card settings. Settings that work for say Call of Duty may not be efficient here.

If you have NVIDIA control panel...maybe use allow software to control hardware or use the performance setting, worth a try...hope it helps!  :salute

No there are not such settings in AH, you'll need to configure that in your vid card settings. if it's a nvidia there is performance tweaks on my AHTH link below. If you're running high quality sometimes that creates it own issues trying to draw. Tree are popping because it's catching up AND you're coming within set distance,... if you're machine is running good try setting the game detail to full distance, and maybe performance settings combo.
