I dont think so at all. You have a half dozen jerks here and a couple carry over into the game, but for the most part we have a good group playing this game.
I have a good time when I fly/play. We have a great bunch of guys and it is non stop laughs. Always a good time. I ignore the crap on the boards, and help out where I can to those looking for it.
This.
I’m not sure where I float in the picture, but I have a damn good time in game.
I could be having my butt handed to me, nudge the villain, laugh about it, move onto the next clock-cleaning.
I think I even took a drubbing from you for shooting down your wounded P-47,…disparate people do desperate things. <shrug><innocent smile>
I look at it this way,..competition is healthy, you see it in every backyard baseball game, where the word ‘cheaters’ is said during 5 of 9 innings. You’re playing tomorrow too, after the BBQ together.
If there is no competition, no level frustration in it, the game is no longer working.
Taking a sim/game serious is good, be engaged, but if you’re not having a good time it may be a sign you went too deep and critical. Pull back a notch. Don’t take anything too seriously.
A lot of us had those days too. But also, most times, found our way back to the fun part.
A community protecting their tuff and game is a normal human reaction. Even for those who complain about it.
Never read too much into the rants within a seasoned community. Some have been a part of each other’s lives for up to a few decades.
That said, my words are not confined to me.
