Model Building
« on: December 05, 2024, 08:28:14 AM »
I have been away from here for a while. I am still around aviation and have gotten bitten by the modeling bug again, so I have been spending my off-time doing that. Here is my recent build of the Airfix 1/24 Spitfire Mk.IXc.

Only four decals were used on the Spit, everything else is masked and painted.

Damn! That is some serious skill showing.

It amazes me the skills some have here that aren’t rich off of them. CGI movie worthy crafts.

Great detail I'm jealous of your skills and equipment.   :aok

Too small for me now so I strip and repaint WWII reproduction helmets. This is a Fallschirmjager (para helmet)  An original like this is 15k and up.

Wow, really nice work there!

I build metal earth models and a couple RC cars. I'm not huge into painting, which is one reason why I prefer the metal earth, but there's something about molding metal while I'm on the couch chillin watching TV that I really enjoy.

I replaced the Mig in there with the metal earth F86, the mig was an older model from a friend.

Tried the 109 metal model..think it was 1/72 scale

Ended up in the trash after the metal tabs started breaking off due to too many retries lol

Yours look great!

That's impressive. Makes me want to get into modeling. I actually have a model that needs put together from 30 or more years ago.
