"Executive Orders" by Tom Clancy

Hello all....

Anybody know Tom Clancys Novel "Executive Orders"???

Well it start with that a japanese 747 crashed in the capitol and killed US President.... After that a gen-maipulated Ebola-Virus was set out by Islamic Terrorist in different places of US...

Well, a good story, but very fictional and unrealistic...

I THINK UNTIL NOW.....

I really afraid now...

All democratic countrys MUST improve and work MORE together to protect our families and towns against terrorism and radicalism....

May god be with us...

Good night!

When told of the crashes this morning that's the 1st thing I thought of.

Hell, when I read it I remember thinking 'this seems like an unfallible way'

Guess it is.

Thats exactly what I thought of as well when I first heard about it.  Well, that and my mother had gone friggin crazy, but that only lasted until I turned on the TV.

Yeah, too bad we don't have someone like Jack Ryan in the White House - instead of the diddlying invisible man jetting around from one place to the next hiding out.

the novel wich narrates the 747 crash was "Honor Debt" or something like that (I have it in spanish, as I do have Executive orders and all the Jack Ryan book series)

what I wonder is up to wich point did that n book give the idea to those SOBs.

.... thats a intresting question...

but I imagine they do it this way because, sorry for that.

Its cheap and efficient...

I mean, you only need two poeple for eatch plane who have a basic idea of fly an airplane, I mean, everbody who can fly a cessna will also able to turn a jumbo on a new course if its final in air, not???

Only 8 poeple need to kill 1000th...really made me afraid....

Jihad pull your head out.  When there is an attack on the military chain of command there are certain plans that go into place.  When the military goes to this state of alert, the highest possible state of alert, the President goes to the airborne command post and stays there until it settles down.

This is where he is:  http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/usa/c3i/e-4b.htm

He's there DOING HIS JOB which is to command US military forces until this thing cools down.  If you read that link you'll also notice there is a secondary disaster response mission which is also entirely appropriate for what has happened.

The interesting question, to me anyway- Was Tom Clancy a Prophet, or a Catalyst?

Oh, Executive Orders picks up the end of Debt of Honor- I believe the plane crash is in both books (the end of one, the beginning of the other).

kinda ironic, all that money shoved into a star wars/anti-missile defense program...when all they had to do was hijack planes and smash them on their targets.

Our lives just got more complicated.  :(

I simply think that he noticed the potential danger before any other of us. That a terrorist may have picked the idea, but that the security agencies haven't says few about the latter's intelligence.

BTW If you read "Nuclear Panic" (Again not sure about the title in english), then you will get REALLY scared.

It was mentioned today on the news that U.S. intelligence discovered a plot very similar to this a few YEARS ago. Supposedly the plan was to hijack 10 jumbo jets in africa.
When did Tom's book come out ?

Nuclear panic?--you mean The Bear and The Dragon?

Btw jihad- the president has little say when the secret service takes over for his safety.

Huhmmm no, I took a look for the book's name in english and it is "The sum of all fears".

Happens that in Spain the book and movie title translations are...creative to say the least  ;).
