Speaking of good AH vids on YouTube...
« on: January 24, 2025, 11:38:41 PM »
Evilseed is putting out some high quality joints along with many others lately.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfYcGg1aTms

Great use of subtitles, music and tags in his vids.

So we have Animl, Horble, Fugitive, DLO52, Hollywood, Scott66, Steely and a few others (forgive me if I missed mentioning someone!) putting good content on YouTube. It'd be great if all of this content could be accessed at focal site or playlist on YouTube. Maybe Fugitive, Animl-hell, anyone, starts collecting all these vids on a playlist under their YouTube channel as more views could be garnered as folks slip into a veritable AH rabbit hole by perusing a playlist. If you have YouTube channel and see a good AH vid, add it to your AH playlist. If folks find a good vid out there, they could mention the link in comments or mention here via PM or whatever ifluff'n they don't have a YouTube channel.. Even older stuff like Krupnski's and Joach1m's stuff is highly entertaining and needs some light.

Just spit ballin'.

Sample playlist....very small sample:

Forgive the multiple edits, I ain't drankin', I'm just dumb.

Very nice! Least everyone should do is view these films and give them a thumbs up and subscribe

The more popular the better chance YT will put them in other like feeds to other viewers

I think VR completes realism in films/videos, which I don’t have.

I subscribe to pages and enable subs to be shown, then I have a whole pages of vids from others.

I agree.

The only reason Im taking the time to learn and post this stuff is to promote the game. And You Tube, I think is a great way to do it. You Tube uses algorithms to push these videos. Each time someone visits, likes, comments, and subscribes You Tube notices. The more action on these site the more You Tube adds your content to that list down the right side of the You Tube page in the "video recommended for you" section. That along with the tags you add to the page help others find Aces High. A modeler might be researching a P51 model he is going to build and Google will pop up a video about some guy who videoed his build, the guy watches the video and notices in the recommended section one of our videos and watches that, next think you know they are downloading the game to give it a try. Instead of building a plastic model of a P51 he is looking forward to FLYING a P51!

Well thats my hope anyway  :D It is however why I beg everyone to check out the videos, like, subscribe, and comments. I dont do it to personally say "I got 50 likes on that video!" I do it to push the algorithms and get the "Aces High" name out there. Check out these videos! Mine, Animl, Horble, DLO52, Hollywood, Scott66, Steely and a all the others. You dont even have to watch the whole thing! The two minutes you spend watching, clicking a like typing "Nice!" in the comments section and hitting that subscribe button could help bring in a few new players to the game. I know I spend hours putting my littles videos together. I dont know how long these other guys spend, Im sure its a bunch of time on some of these because they are awesome.

So i will figure out how to add a play list to my page. I hope everyone else with take a couple minutes out of your day to hit a few of these page to "Like, Comment, and hit that Subscribe button!"

Not sure if you can post other page video in a playlist, gonna have to look into that.
But allowing your subs to be shown on your page really widens exposure to pages.

I think think I might be short on estimating 200 hrs on MotA. Had to go through 30 hrs of films hoping I didn’t miss the better shots. I missed a lot. Plus stumbling through AHFV, video settings, etc…

These 1.20 min vids probably take  10 hrs compiled time. Its finding the shots that take the most time.

Bless those who contributed films, they help widen perspective. 95% of MotA and PR vids is donated films.

I’m at 4k views across 4 vids. Which is small in comparison, but O K for a sim flyin under the radar.

You gotta go to someone like Dolby's main channel page, hit the videos tab and then find the vid you just watched and look for 3 dots in the upper right corner of the video in the list. A dropdown appears with the option to add to playlist. I'm not sure why they don't have this option appear next to the video while you watch it in partial frame.. Poor design.
Edit: I'm an idiot. The 3 dots appear next to the clip tab, that has the little scissors, down in the lower right of the video. Select save and "to playlist" is one of the options.

I'm gonna start adding everyone's link to my main as you suggest.

Exactly. I always throw in a like and a comment to help the algorithms. I even got into a beef down in the comments on one of your AH shorts vids! I kinda regret that but the guy was spouting nonsense. Anyhow yeah, get those likes and comments in there to up the potential for guys surfing Youtube to come across them. Your "guy putting a P51 model together" example is perfect. It also gives incentive for Dolby, Animl et al. to keep burning the calories on this stuff.

I've really enjoy watching all this stuff while traveling for work or whatever. I log into my Mac at home from the road and I've got something fun to watch for the night.

Comments on YT can be deleted.  Just fyi. Keep the gnats out

Btw you have to setup a section and select Subscriptions, then make sure its enabled to show them in settings. Notice at the bottom of my page are sub links.

Yup, gonna make a separate channel for my flight sim stuff as I have literally hundreds of subscriptions to mountain biking, road biking, watchmaking and RC aircraft channels. It's getting too big and unwieldy.

I have to agree, Evilseed's films are really well done, the VR and film viewer shots put together look very professional!

If the film viewer was even a little more stable/easier to use I'd be doing the same for sure.

As Fugi mentions, he's mostly making films to promote AH, and that's also my goal, with a secondary purpose of a kind of squad diary for those that couldn't be there on the day, as well as the fact I just enjoy editing video :)

I try to be subscribed to all of your channels (and I think I am), and always try to leave a comment, as this helps visibility on YT, suggest we all subscribe and comment to get it seen by more eyeballs
