Sik1 should be along soon. He's usually the first guy to talk to about training. When he has time he'll try to get you into the training arena. He's very good.

Until then, you are surrounded by many well seasoned pilots who like helping.

This guy put out a decent video on BFM

Many greatresources here on the boards as well. Ask a question and you WILL get answers. Check my signature for my help page for AH as well as my Youtube channel.

My help page has a link to a plane comparison page. Click the planes ( up to 4 at a time) and you will get charts for climb, speed, lethality and more.

I wish I could offer some help but my comp fried a few days ago. I’m trying to get a new one built it’s just going to take some time.

Of course I’m still fighting the fight but the chemo is taking a toll, I have a treatment this week and that’s gonna put me outta action for a week or so. I’m hoping to be up and running before the end of March.

In addition to 1 vs 1 training, I highly recommended you film times of action and watch from other players point of view in the film viewer.

Wow,

First I would like to apologize to all of the above for not replying sooner. I honestly didn't expect such fast responses and am still very new to how the forums work. I have watched almost all the youtube videos I can get my hands on regarding ACM and even Aces High content videos and have really tried to absorb it I'm just finding difficulty with it. I understand the basics of flight, but there's so much more detail I'm missing.

For example the "tricky" planes: Corsairs, Ponys, Jugs...the flap and seemingly "to the edge of stalling" techniques.

Perhaps I'm going about it the wrong way, but I've turned off all the "easy" stuff: stall limiter, auto take off, etc.

Last night after posting this I found a AH video SHawk (I'm still very new to the AH video viewer) posted over a decade ago on the forums of him dueling another fella in the DA, Pony D VS Pony D and...I LEARNED SO MUCH from just following his plane in external mode and watching how he used flaps and rudder to maneuver.

SIK1, Lazzer, Fugitive, Animl  if you have some AH videos of you flying anything except a Spitfire. I like Spitfires but I'm trying to avoid them (love the Spit 9 and 13) as they seem like a plane if you fly it too much you just get "sucked in" to them and never want to leave and AH has so many options that are better one way or the other.

I did establish a Dropbox account last night so I could download SHawk's video. So anything you post I can download and view to learn.

SIK1 if you have some videos to share I would gladly like to view them and we can schedule time in the TA arena at a later date. I'm sorry for prematurely posting this, I just didn't find SHawk's video until after posting. AH films that can be viewed in the AH film viewer are actually very helpful. AH content I've found on youtube, you just don't have the flexibility to see what the plane is actually doing with the rudders, speed, flaps, elevators, etc.

Thank you all,

Is Soda's pages archived somewhere? Every time I click the link it goes nowhere. I can't remember much from 20 years ago (I played AH before joining the Army in 2006) but Soda's aircraft evaluations were pretty much the new guy's bible. The wiki pages just don't seem really and I could be wrong, the same.

I genuinely appreciate the thought and I hope the chemo works out. It takes a hell of a toll on a person to go through that. We can fly when you're feeling better.

Thank you for replying, it genuinely means a lot.

I'm going to make a note of this and figure out how to view a dog fight from the other pilot's view (didn't know we could that with the film viewer. Going to have to make special note of that when I encounter a Bishop corsair to turn my record on because, I would argue JOKER is the best Corsair pilot in the game. at the moment consider I myself lucky if I can run away with my tail tucked because if I full commit I'm usually in a parachute in under five minutes.

OK, my Aces High Help Page Has a couple dozen Aces High films available for down load, most great films to learn from. I learn from watching as well more than flying along and listening to a trainer.....no offence to the trainers.

Sodas Aircraft evaluation site can be looked at on an archived page, just click the link back there.

Doktor Gonzo had a page that use flash to compare planes in Aces High. I have repaired the site (as FLASH no longer works) and you can find it here.

Any thing else your looking for just post it, some of us may have it.

You'll never stop learning, it's eternal in AH world. If it's not ACM, AC, history, events or tech issues....it just never stops. Many have been flying for 25-35 yrs, we're still learning something new. It's not like you'll reach level 5 and win the game.

You're in good hands with Sik1.

Glad to have ya aboard.

I might have a dell inspiron desktop top. I'll check it out, if it's not too much trouble to hype up it's yours. :)

Iirc, you just need to click on the players name on the right hand side of the screen.  Maybe a double click

Lazerr, is correct, however bear in mind,  you are NOT seeing exactly what the other player was seeing. You are seeing what "your" computer "saw" the other player doing. That does not detract from the quality of the feedback you gain from the view.  :aok
