Adjusting TrackIR
« on: February 23, 2025, 04:48:33 PM »
I need to do some futzing with my TrrackIR profile but I'd like to do it while in the cockpit of AH planes. I'm not a Microsoft Windows guy so I'm not familiar with the keyboard shortcuts and stuff. How do I have a small TrackIR software window opened over the top of AH so I can make adjustments on the fly without having to toggle back and forth? Is this even possible with AH? Thanks in advance.

You could try running Aces High in window mode...if that is even possible.

I adjust my track-ir as you said, just alt-tab.

look at a post from fugitive at the bottom he's got a link where you can find several profiles, you can tweak one of those.

Yeah, it looks like you can't run AH in windows mode so I'll just keep alt-tabbing.
Thanks, Baloo

Yup, using one of his but my new spectacles are causing me grief with the bifocal stuff so I had to move away from the monitor some. Was just wanting to adjust things a bit with the profile.

I've used TrackIR for maybe 20 years and can't figure out why you would want to adjust it in game. Maybe there's another option?

I have two pair of bifocals. One specifically for the computer. I had them make the lower part of the bifocal shorter so I could tilt my head up for trackir without having to look through the more magnified part.

I see YouTube vids of guys sitting on the runway in MS flightsim, DCS or whatever and they are looking around and tweaking curves and whatnot in trackir or opentrack to improve said views rather than alt-tabbing back and forth. Both windows open with the tracking opened in a small window near center like this guy:

sounds more like your vision is the problem, i have my computer reading glasses set up to 17 inches, which is longer than my regular reading glasses, I have no problems.

Just because you moved a bit farther away from the screen shouldnt change the TrackIR settings. You might have to shorten the limit you turn your head a bit but moving even a foot back shouldnt have that much of a difference on the settings. It just might be that your a bit farther back that is throwing you off. Bumping up your "field of view" in the game a bit might get you back in the right spot.

I futzed with it for a while and it's dialed in. being further back was causing me to have to center more often than usual. I think I solved this drift issue by unchecking true view. I also took your advice and dialed up FOV a bit. I'll test more tomorrow.

These new specs with transition lenses have been really giving me grief. It seems like the transition zone is right at my gun site almost every time lately. I see some folks throw a bit of zoom in while lining up a shot. I might give that a try as well.
 Thanks, Fugitive.

Yes, you can adjust your TrackIR profile while in the cockpit of Aces High (AH) without toggling back and forth. However, since AH runs in fullscreen mode by default, you’ll need to either run it in windowed mode or use a borderless window workaround to keep the TrackIR software visible.
