Toxic players should not be permitted to be mods
« on: February 23, 2025, 05:00:24 PM »
TDshane. I'd deacked and de-dared a base and was planning to bring buffs to wf it if I could wrangle up a goon. Longshot, no problem, and least the bad guys were either oblivious or defensive. Shane kept plucking away at town with the BB even though I had buffs inb and I told him that was stupid. Why tell the bad guys we were there when I could wf it in an instant? Ten minute mute for an extremely tame comment that what he was doing was not helpful to team for that; and then a two hour mute when I challenged him on it. No bad words at all, just saying that was self-centered and stupid.

WTG HT. I logged because of it, which maybe is a good thing (real life etc lol but this game is addictive).

I'm sure that made shane happy.  But given declining clientele...do you really want ppl logging off because a mod feels the need to flex?

If I were a mod, I'd be cleaning up the language I see.  :devil

I have no issues with game related smack talk since it's both opt-in and manageable with tools.   :rock

Why the mod warned you (and me, too, fyi) is a bit  :noid  but what you did, was challenge them and got yourself a timeout.  You think you'd have learned at least that by now - don't push back on a mod, no matter what the situation.   :ahand  :furious

(edit for os specifically: And fwiw, I flattened the field and white flagged town from the BB guns - the defense had to up from the other bases - almost got a lvt in.>   :aok

Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.

Personally I vote for Zack1234 as a mod.
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

Ah, mods. A topic near and dear to my heart.

You're lucky Eagler. Once you get on their list you're going to get hit repeatedly in my experience. Mods seem to be like some FBI agents today. They decide who they don't like and then go look for a crime.

If the mod likes you, you can get away with a lot. If they decide they don't like you, you will get warned for saying something that others have said but since it came from you, you will get warned or maybe just muted without warning.

An example of this was when I got a language warning for saying I was p*ssed off while I've seen others go on and on using far worse language and obviously never received a warning because it didn't stop.

One of the most interesting things that I heard 2nd hand so I can't verify this was true was that there seems to be no record of the actions of some of these mods. I was told by another player that said they called HT on my behalf to look into the repeated and in my opinion undeserved warnings that I had received and he was told that there wasn't any record of me having received warnings.

My advice would be to not say anything on 200 and only let go with a stream of profanity on the range channel as this one never seems to be policed and I've heard some Frosty people do it regularly.

I'm sure this post will open a bunch of responses by the people who always feel the need to attack me an defend the mods for some reason. That should be fun :)

Many who complain about mods keeping order probably would not fair well at it. Its usually the same players.

That said, I assume some of the mod stuff is automated.

You should respect them for trying to keep the game somewhat civil which helps attracts players.

We’ve seen some chase or peel off more than we take in.

Would you act like that in front of your family?

The libertarian-ish viewpoint of online discourse trained into me by my first mentor so far as writing/online reviews, makes me want to vote for NOBODY for mod.  This forum pre-Skuzzy had little to no moderation and was a hoot, with nobody to cry to, and nobody to mute/suspend anyone for anything short of criminal speech so far as flying online as well.

My vote for mod is NOBODY.
