Can never trust the "no faul play" narrative any more, however this appears from the outside most likely carbon monoxide leak.

When ppl become ill they go to medication, pass out and die while trying to find it.
If its carbon monoxide it depends where the leak was and where the other dogs were located CM hangs closer to floor. If they were at another level of the home they wouldn’t get affected.

Now if we’re going off deep end, someone could turn in stove with no flame and turn it off after death.

As soon as the cops opened the door the gas leaks out or dissipated before they arrived

I've read in one article that it's speculated that his wife died first and that he had Alzheimer's. He was 95 and looked pretty frail in the last photos of him.

I'm wondering if his wife got sick/died/suddenly dropped dead and then he wasn't able to do anything. Maybe he fell and got hurt and was unable to get up. They say there was no gas leaks, but that there was a space-heater in one of those rooms.

Amazing how our brains garb the fastest connection/answer, right ir wrong, when an answer is missing. The brain prioritizes fast answer over correct answer.

IMO, this is how conspiracy works. An active brain wants the answer right now, to move on, any one will do.

I don't know. I don't jump to conclusions about stuff or present things that can't be known as the truth. Just speculating.

There is not enough info out to have a reasonable hypothesis. The pill bottle (and only one was reported) could have been aspirin for all we know. Carbon monoxide is a valid theory but the autopsy will say one way or another. I had not heard of other dogs at the home. Were they inside of outside. My guess is outside if any, otherwise their bodies would have been at least partially consumed instead of being reported as starting to mummify.

At this point I'm content to wait for the investigation to get done. Not a fan of useless speculation, or as I call it, mental masturbation.

Reading several news articles, several mention that his wife was in a "state of decomposition" and her hands and feet were starting to mummify - but they  only say that Gene was fully clothed and it appeared that he had fallen and do not mention what his condition was.

They also say that there was a space heater next to his wife's head that "may have fallen over when she fell suddenly" and that there was an open pill bottle with scattered pills on the counter and next to her.

So , who knows. But if that stuff is true, I can picture here going for her pills and collapsing.

Of course we need to wait until all the reports and information are in, but there's still an outside possibility that a tornado got to them.
