Famous B29

The Enola Gay, the B-29 Superfortress that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, still exists and is on display at the Smithsonian's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.

It's been removed for the time being and until they can repaint the nose to say Enola Straight. :P

The B-29 Superfortress bomber, Enola Gay, was named after pilot Colonel Paul Tibbets Jr.'s mother, Enola Gay Tibbets.

Was Straight her maiden name?

I only brought this up because the news is reporting that the Defence Dept had removed all pictures of the airplane as well as pictures and references to the Tuskeegee Airmen.

"May you live in interesting times"... Supposedly a rough translation from an ancient Chinese curse.

IMO The brouhaha about the DEI eradication over reach is the result of senior pentagon official(s) throwing a tantrum. They know damn well what the DEI order was all about, they are just taking it as far as they can to cause a problem and gain publicity. Just another example of TDS, but in uniform.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

We do not assume sexual preference nor gender assignment to our bombers around here, sir.  Get with the program.
