Being a union guy, truth, union will not make it cheaper, but probably better and safer, but wages and benefits level any savings. The wages are not too much, they are cost of living. I gave you a invoice for a typical arena concert you’d crap. That truth said, most unions would not even exist if employers did the right thing for workers. They do not. They want miracles for less to put more in their pockets, greed. The reason we have unions is because of corporate greed, they pass zero savings to the buyer. Ya know what a lot of them do instead of better wages? They go around the country with $2-3 million stage productions to feel like ego gods. Its sick. I’ve seen just one company spend 10 million city wide. Medical is ridiculous. Corporate will keep that high price no matter what.. thise CEO want to be rock stars, literally. If you saw it you’d vomit.

I do not believe one word about security, its about stealing their minerals and oil. Ya don’t need to own it for security, Greenland used to have 18 bases, now 1-3. i’ll bet big in Vegas its about minerals and oil. The security excuse is nonsense. Thats what allies are for.

Kinda yes, kinda no. It's much longer story than you would think

I'll give you a personal example.

I my base pay straight time was $56 hr. Sounds great and greedy right? If you could only imagine what comes with that.
Because of privatization of the toll road I need to use to get to work on time consistently, tolls rose from 1.25 to 4.50 ( have to show profit for share holders), crossing the bridge into Chicago is 8.25. I use 2 tolls, total $13 on-way. $26 round trip.
Parking cost me between $25-50. I'm at $50 without even getting out of the car. If I have to buy my own meal it's about another $25, now up to $75 per day to work, if it's a long day and I have to buy 2 meals I'm up to $100 just to work one day. My 1st 1.5-2 hrs of work is just paying for my commute. Last year it cost me $10k just to commute to work, no meals counted. NOW, listen, I used to be able to right that off in expenses on taxes,.. because of the tax scam I get to deduct ZERO, its now out of pocket.

Now, when you commute round trip 78 miles per day (not to mention 3 hrs in the car of your time) city driving you wear your car out real fast, and maybe in an accident, if you fall sleep because you worked 20 hrs, or drunks. same thing. OR maybe shot just driving home. Typical car maintenance is about $2k per yr. I'm up to $12k now. I live modestly, cost me $21k for home utilities and expenses per yr. I just dumped $32k. Have not bought myself a thing yet.

If we made $25 per hour, entertainment in Chicago would dump to almost nothing because no one is stupid enough to do that. Do you know what they want to pay us? $15 hr, OR a day rate of $200, meaning they can work you 2 or 20 hrs , same pay.. These are multi-million and billionaires,.. FU pay me. Then they want us to work 12-20 hrs with no over time 4-5 days in a row. we all have to be OSHA certified to make sure they don't cheap out and kill someone, which they barely care about. Or play games like work you 1 hr, take you off the clock, you go 20-50 miles home and call you back for 3 more hours, you just wasted a day for scraps. The union made sure we get an 8 hr minimum.

Ya know how much a promoter takes home on one arena concert? 2-4 MILLION for one day. There is NO WAY a concert should cost $300-1,500. Its GREED. FU pay me. If they got rid of the union do you think they would pass that savings on to you the customer? lol,no chance in hell.

So, you need to ask yourself who you are for,.... the CEO/Promoter or the worker? Who needs the help most?

Unions ARE politicized for sure, no doubt. They have to to have any power to negotiate. If you have 6 million electricians in a city, you can change that vote. Its a razor line. But simple, we vote for who doesn't screw us. I give a rats butt what color the flag they wave.

I see the joke our leaders have become on both sides of the corrupt coin..and no I don't think the average American has the thick skin needed to take the pain tariffs need to bring to work properly
