We should charge reciprocal tariffs. If a country is charging us, or if they are dumping product, then we should charging appropriate tariffs until it's remedied.
Not sure what Trump is doing exactly, but I do know that Canada has some pretty steep tariffs on American dairy. China doesn't freely allow some American business and they subsidize a lot of stuff and they're been known to dump in the market.
I do not know the detail of most of our tariffs, or if they are justified or not. I suspect that they are supposed to be a bargaining tool.
I'm not against having China make our suff. American, German, UK and other quality companies design a lot of the stuff and it's made in factories a lot of them have made. It's just that it's located in China and they have a MUCH more sophisticated and VAST industrial base and supply chain. Who cares where the stuff is made?
