I have robot vac  but I have like an acre. How much can those robo mowers do?

I got the Luba II Mini.  I have ~7500 sq ft of lawn.  The mini is barely adequate.  I really like it, but wish I had paid the extra and went with the Luba II.

It does it, but takes a couple of charges.  It finds it's way back to the charge on it's own and then continues where it left off.  In the front I have to go out every so often to check on things just to dissuade any kids from wanting to come play with it.  But mostly I just let it go and track it on the phone.  It has very accurate tracking of it's exact position and I can even tie into the FPV camera on top and watch it mow real time. lol.  I can also watch it externally from my house security cams. 

In the back with the fence close I just let it go. It's locked in. It can take until midnight I don't care.  It will go back the the charger and lug itself in when it's done.  It is almost completely silent.

It's definitely not for hogging down field brush.  I did a torture test on it the first cut.  He was cutting maybe 1" off and that was a struggle on thick Bermuda and the cut wasn't that clean.
Now that it has be cut to height, heck I can run it every 3rd day if I want as long as it is the one out there sweating.  So now I'm trimming off 1/2 to 1/4 in at a time and it's starting to look like a pool table top.

Every week or some I'll make a single pass on the perimeter with the gas mower and a quick run with a string trimmer.  Other than that I leave it to "Gump" my robot gardener.

It comes with a charging base and they say it is perfectly fine to leave out in the weather.  It was designed for that.  I got the optional shade cover for it though and I like it.  It kind of hides it more too.

So other than wishing I had gotten the next size bigger I couldn't be happier.

Heh, I was curious how you liked it. I've watched a bunch of reviews on the Luba and it seems like the brand I'd go with. Lot of money to fork over.

Our lawn takes about 40 minutes to push mow but it's a corner lot so we have a front and side yard, so I worry about having issues with the range from base on one of these.

My furthest distance is 40 m but that is with a house in between.  My phone will occasionally drop Bluetooth with the mower but that doesn't seem to effect the mowing.  Not sure how that magic works.  The mower has never had a problem.

I have 3 mowing yard areas.  You can define channels that are the path it uses to move between one area and another.  Like through where an open gate will be or where on the driveway it can cross over unobstructed.  So it can find it's own way back to the charger from any part of the yard and come back to finish after a charge.

It is down to a couple cm accuracy.  I had a couple of edge issues I was following him on that I was concerned about but he traced it perfectly.  I had manually drove it when mapping the perimeter to get as perfectly close as possible. 

The Lube 2 would give me double blade disks for a wider cut path.  The yard would be done quicker.  I imagine it also has a jacked up battery so ideally I could get the whole yard on a single charge.  Take what ever they claim as capacity and then take 75% of that as realistic. 

I bet a friend that in 2 years half the houses on the street will have one or like it.

I like to enjoy the mow on our 2000 Sq yard of st. Augustine with a ego electric mower ...

Also enjoying clearing out 18 acres in north central Florida with a john deer 325g skid steer, a Kubota and a Koyker tractors...riding mowers once grass grows in..

Doodle bug mowers aren't in our future..

When they get as small and cheap as my indoor Roborock.  Or maybe the next Luba version mower will have this as an attachment and that will be my excuse to upgrade.

We lived off base for about year when we went back to Okinawa in '85. Before I got a mower an old man, native, came to the door and asked if he could cut our grass. He wanted the yen equivalent of $100. Our yard was tiny. I told him too much. We settled on $25. He spent all day cutting it with a small kama.

There are similar lawn care products out there for Canadians that might better fit your budget.

We have the one my retired 85 year old seabee father in law used growing up on his farm as a single child in Indiana hanging on our garage wall..it's a beast

Didn't have the health issues we have today...such activities kept you lean and mean..not so much today with now robot mowers lol...

Okinawa holds the title for regional longevity. Old man that cut our grass by hand probably not still alive. Would have to be at least 110 by now.
