Chinese understand that the previous administration wanted everybody on solar and supporting the grid.
They haven’t “tried” it yet and are holding back from “trying” it now and will likely choose to attack during a large scale disastrous event such as a snowstorm or major flooding event.
If that happens, the US will be too busy to stop an attack on Taiwan.
If the attack is successful enough, the population of the “lower 48” will thin the herd off leaving the US in a bad state of strength for defense…….once people leave their battle stations to try to find any living family members.
