WINWING URSA MINOR Fighter Joystick
« on: May 23, 2025, 01:56:23 PM »
After much disappointment with the garbage Thrustmaster T16000M FCS HOTAS Joystick. (two sets of them) One the twist started twitching and the other one the throttle started twitching at min and max. I had to increase the dead zone to stop the twitching but over time it got so bad that this didn't even help.

I also tried the garbage Logitech G X56 H.O.T.A.S Throttle and Joystick Flight Simulator Game Controller. The stick on this one started sticking and would jump when increased force to move it. Also the throttle would advance to full with gravity no matter the friction settings. In addition to this some of the buttons I used the most stopped working.

Having had enough of this garbage but not the budget for high end gear and not wanting to pay $40 to ship a $130 dollar product (VKB) I bought a WINWING URSA MINOR Fighter Joystick for around $130 including shipping.

I wanted to share my opinion on this one in the event that it helps others now that I've been using it for a bit. I feels to be much better quality and is much more precise then the previous controllers. It also comes with and extra parts. It has a bunch of buttons, some which are not in best places but I find them to be manageable.

If you're in the market and your budget is under $150 I would recommend trying this Winwing stick over the Thrustmaster and Logitech stuff I listed above.

Thanks for the review Hazmat, I am currently on my 3rd X56 over 6 years. I did look at the Winwing recently. I love the fact it uses Hall effect sensors, their accuracy and longevity would be a major selling point for me. Do you recall if the have a throttle setup as well? One of the things I like about the X56 is the HOTAS setup and all the buttons.  :rock

I had an X52, then an X55 which I wore out. Then and X56. I don't use it now but before I stopped using it I did the spring mod to get rid of the "gimbal" sticking. It worked well.

Like this but I made my own.

I had a couple st290s back in the day was one of the best cheap sticks ever. After that madcatz drove saitek into the toilet and now TM is doing it all by themselves.

Wow. x56 still working after 6 years is impressive. The winwing is much more precise then the X56.

There is a throttle on the stick but you could use other throttles as well. I'm currently working on using an old x52 throttle with the new stick.

I bet you could use your X56 throttle with it.

Yes they have one, but it aint cheap. As stated Im sure you could use any throttle and it would work.
