Did anyone else miss this, and how?

On 12th April 2025

AcesHigh - HiTech Creations became 25 years old?

How did we miss such a milestone without some kind of party, cake and enough Cragganmore to sink the Bismark!?

I think Anml is right and it's over 26 if you include the open beta. According to Wikipedia it's May 8, 2000. Again that does not count the open beta nor the open beta forum. Wikipedia has been known to get dates wrong specially with games.

I think the open beta started in Sept or Oct 1999 and the game went live April or May 2000.

I beta tested AH and was on the Beta Forums. I didn't jump into the current AH forums until oct 2000 I didn't go full subscriber until the game dropped down to 14.99 thanks to the Damned and my Squads at the time (33rd Strike Group and ACCS) moved over from what was left of Air Warrior III/ME. Both squads died and Whels Devi and Myself jumped over to the Damned somewhere around 2002-2003.

Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

I remember using the like that AH was 25 years old when we were promoting the Masters of the Air event.

Didn’t mean it was that old I just remeber is doing it.  :old:

Going by the scores page....

Beta was August 1999 - January 2000

On the HTC "About us" web page it says that HTC was founded in 1999.

So the company may have started before then but the beta is the first instance of the game.

So using the beta as the start that would mean that August 2024 was the 25th anniversary which does follow for if you divide the 304 tours (which havent been reset yet  :devil ) by 12 you get 25 and change. So the 26th anniversary is in August a short 2 months away.
