B-26K Counter Invader
« on: June 23, 2025, 04:01:37 PM »
Just completed this model of the B-26K Counter Invader. Loved the kit, but it was a pain in the but to build.

Finished in time for the regional IPMS show and was surprised to take home Best in Category (Airplane) with it.

nice work!
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.

Really impressive work but forgive me.... is that not an A26?

The B-26 Marauder was retired from service shortly after WW2 ended, while the A-26 Invader remained.

The US Air Force did away with the attack designation in 1947 when they became their own branch of the military. Therefore, the A-26 was redesignated to B-26. Similar to how the P-51 became the F-51.
