Game Crashing - Tanks and Bombers
« on: Yesterday at 12:47:49 PM »
Hello,

Arena:Open Melee

Map: 3 Points

I am having an issue with bomber and tank spawning. For bombers once I'm in the air if I press any number on the keyboard to switch positions it closes the game out. When I relaunch the first two times, it respawns me exactly where it crashed with my engines off but turning on. It shows a messaging about spawning me back to where i left off.

With the tanks its happening at a spawn with planes and tanks but not at other spawns with less or no one.

my internet is 1000mbps and tested it at 850/850 mbps for both tests. And with no changes to the computer, it started mid-day today.

EDIT: It is now also happening when I switch from certain bases to other bases but not every single base. No other issues with other games, or software on my computer. Tested about an hour later in bombers. Everytime switching to gun positions 1-4 worked but if you press anything above it closes the game out. When relaunched it still says "Host:Getting you back into your plane" or something similar.

Some of my DXDIAG:

It sounds like a lost connection issue. The message "returning you to your plane" is something Hitech added. When you get booted, if you return to the game quick enough ithe game will put you back into your plane if it hasnt crashed or been shot down.

Why you are getting booted is the big question. Unless you have the numbers mapped to "ALT F4" or something to boot you. Check your mappings and remember that there is 4 modes for mapping your controls.

I checked the mapping its all the correct defaults. It JUST happened in a lancaster switching to front gun. Closes the game out like an ALT + F4 closure.

sfc /scannow

Just did that and got this:

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.26100.4351]
(c) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Windows\System32>sfc/scannow

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

That makes me thing it's AH3 related and not windows related.

I don't know how to fix AH3. If it were me I would backup my settings and uninstall and reinstall it.

Yeah..probably quickest fix I just got back on anyway still programming the controllers took an 11 year break but anyway I’ll try that and see if they know of anyone else with the same issue. Thank you for the help everyone

Ya making a backup of the "settings" folder is a good idea. As for reinstalling, download a fresh copy and install it right over what you have installed allready. It will rewrite any corrupt files which might fix it.
