Continuous Glucose Monitors
« on: June 27, 2025, 02:30:51 PM »
Thinking about trying one for awhile to see what foods effect my glucose levels and how much?
Taking a salamander-your-finger [ hilarious what the bad word filter did there  :) ] stick-your-finger break would be nice also!

Opinions on ones you use?  Cost, ease of use, monitoring [ I have an iPhone 8 Plus.  :old:], anything I should consider?

What would be really nice would be a keytone\glucose dual tracker.

libre3 did not work with my Samsung Xcover and my Iphone kept killing sensors. I still have 2 sensors left but they have been discontinued and replaced by the Libre 3 plus. Mine came with it's own monitor that I plan on using ... Unfortunately it's one more device I have to carry.

I would compare to alternatives and see which work best for you and what your health care provider is willing to pay for.

I use the libre 3 plus, and an app on my smart phone. Usually within 15 points of a finger stick, means I get to keep my a1c down. Downside, very easy to get obsessed with keeping your glucose way down.

Having to inject insulin sucks, but beats the alternative.

All I've ever done is the finger stick. I do believe that a CGM would be of great benefit.

I would suggest reading labels thoroughly. However, carbs locked in Fiber may not digest or digest more than claimed. A good example of that is anything that says net carbs.

I ordered a Stelo and supposed to arrive tomorrow.
No prescription needed.

I did receive it yesterday.  Installation was a breeze and all seemed fine until 5:45 this morning when it crapped out and I’m not getting sensor readings now.  I did go downstairs overnight around then and was out of range but I did that earlier in the day and it reconnected fine.  This time no luck. Your supposed to use their SteloBot but can’t connect with that.
I have an up to iOS but still using an iPhone 8 PLUS.  Wondering if my old phone is an issue.  Requirements mentioned the OS but nothing about phone type.

As of now I consider it a POS and don’t make the mistake I did.
Very frustrated to put it mildly.

If it's using bluetooth to connect turn the bluetooth off and back on. I have to do that often using Windows phone link with my iphone 13.

Did that multiple times.  Phone on/off.  Bluetooth on/off.  App open/closed.
All multiple times. Diddly-squat on all.
Added edit-My DX01NL shows disconnected and doesn't change when I try to reconnect.
And now I’ve got a dead sensor and just wondering what to do.

For Getback. I watch those carbs, carbs-fiber= net carbs.  I generally have less than 50 total carbs a day.  When my POS cgm worked I didn't have any spikes, even after diner which was 2 hamburger patties w/o buns and a dish of broccoli and cauliflower, 4 total carbs. 2x 500mg Metformin after.

AKIron, what would you suggest?  End the session with this one and try to restart with this one if possible or tossing this one and using my next sensor?

Have you ever had a sensor that died prematurely?
By the way, thanks for your input!

I don't have one fuzeman but with other bluetooth devices I have restored connectivity by removing the association and recreating it.

Oh well, there goes my Tech Support.  LoL
We’re good. 👍

EDIT- I’m trying ending that session and restarting it.  So far it doesn’t look promising.
