Cool. I always thought it odd when people said the date and not the holiday.

Maybe I need to start saying merry December 25th, happy Jan 1 and happy 4th Thursday of November!

I wouldn't make it anyway as my 140 lb German Shepherd does a full throttle nosedive under my desk every time a bottle rocket goes off.  :bhead

My Lab is a rescue and there is no fixing his fear of fireworks or thunder. I train dogs...... He is trained but continues his collapse when heavy storms or fireworks are going off. I get out a pill and moving blankets, The pill is the same as what humans use for stage fright.

My dog was in a drug house raid shootout type of thing from what I understand. I recused his as a puppy He's terrified of guns, ammo and even the magazines. He used to go hide when I'd get that stuff out. Now he tries to get all up in my face like he's trying to tell me to put that stuff away.
On top of all that he's been through a tornado, so he freaks out at every thunderstorm. He's a mess, but he's the best friend I've ever had. He follows me every where.....if I'm unarmed on a sunny day that is.  :rofl

You can step out for 5 hours or 5 minutes... and they are just as excited to see you when you come back in. Many humans can learn a lot from dogs.

Propranolol or some other beta-blocker I'd imagine are a good choice.

My Lab recently died after being my best friend for 16 years. His predecessor was my best friend for 15 years and I'm thinking it's about time for another Lab. They're the best.

Wife gives our female part terrier cbd oil for thunderstorms and fireworks. Helps.
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.

The wife just ordered these peanut butter calming chews off of Amazon and they seem to work well.
