Hello,

If I kill a manned 88 do I get credit for a kill?

Thank you,

[Rhetorical]
Are there any planes that I can fly where I can functionally never be killed?
[/Rhetorical]

I know the answer is no.

I am frustrated that some players are so good in 88's that they 1 shot kill me and I have no real recourse.  I know I am not the only one to feel this.  I accept that game as it is and take it the owner will not be changing this...as messed up as it is.

That said, what are the best plane(s) and strategies to kill manned 88s please?

rockets or bombs - learn to do them further out.

you can also level bomb them from alt if you wanted.

or work with a wingman.

solutions exist.

I would suggest you use a TBM w/rockets, come in at 10k. Using the bomb sight, Launch 2 rockets per 88 from as far out as you can see the gun turret. This works for radars as well, it is amazing how far out you can be and still hit the target.  :devil

I wanted to level the playing field.  Some of these 88s aces basically have aimbot.

I pay for and use AI as a computer engineer.  I ran it by AI and had it analyzed the field I was testing this on and came up with this technique which I just verified works on a GV field.

Take a plane with two 500lb bombs (I used and P-47d40).  .salvo 2.  Come in at 15k.  From directly over the GV field I started dive.  I dropped the two bombs exactly in between the two 88s on the field.  I basically aimed for and dropped on the road in between them.  It took out BOTH 88s in one pass\drop.

We all can test and improve on this.  It was a proof of concept test.  It worked!

I'll next work with AI  on strategies for other field types.

Cheers,

-Slade\X15  :salute

I like to come in low and fast. Come in at ALT, dive in and hit each gun in a single pass. Hitting and getting away on two or 3 guns each pass works even if you are just using 50s.

it's not the starting alt... it's the drop alt that needs to be higher than you're used to.

Well at a high alt you have the space to point straight down, release, pull out of the drop. It's pretty much going to go where you're aiming. It's not fighting gravity drop.

Personally, I just gun them with a plane while very close to the deck as fast as I can move. The higher off the deck it seems the more likely I'll be hit. I can drop dar through guns and deack a town by myself with bullets. I may be only 5 ft off the ground or or less just to clear propeller from hitting the ground.
