Using the "6" view with the headset
« on: August 04, 2025, 06:31:00 PM »
When I am tracking someone by turning my head to the up/left say, I get to the point my old neck dont want to go no more so I pull the "6" toggle but that head movement is opposite of what I was tracking so I have to swing my head to the other side and try to pick up the con again.

Is there a way to switch it(flip it), or is there some work around I can use?

Thanks

In  VR take your headset off and set the view using your monitor

The view is set ok. If I track a con turning my head to the left toward 9 oclock, when I switch to the rear view I will be looking at 3 oclock. What I need to do is switch "left" and "right". When looking forward left is left, but in the 6 view I need my left to be on the right.

Is that a specific plane thing?

I get a side rear view in a f4u but not in a 109..

109 6 view is directly astern..

Have you tried using up-left and up-right?

OK, we are looking down on the plane, 2 is the nose and direction of travel, 6 is ....well our six   :)

If I am tracking a target down my left side...2, 3, 4, 5 I am turning my head to the left and eventually over my left shoulder to try and look to my 6. Old age doesnt allow me to do this any more so I was hoping to use the "6 view" button on my joystick. The problem is as I reach the 4-5 area of my head movement, I hit the 6 switch and now I am looking at the 0-7 view out of the plane. My target is all the way on the other side of the tail.

So far I have removed the left, rear, and right views from my hat switch. I have the left/rear, and the right rear still active, but dont know how well I can track targets through those views.

What Im looking for is a way to swap the view when using the the hat switch to look rearward. Its a relative issue.Turning my head to the left I see the left side of the plane but jumping to the read view my left head movement is looking out the right side of the plane.
