I know a woman who writes books on history and one of her recent is regarding the battle of the Alamo and whether there were prisoners taken and executed. Her research supports that. I dunno. I do have ancestors who were citizens of the Republic of Texas.

I have taken the Alamo tour twice, Last time with wife and family. If you do take the tour try to follow a school group, Much more in depth treatment of what happened. A interesting fact nearby town answered the call with 42 men who fought and died there. More Mexicans died fighting  for the Alamo than Anglo-Saxons

I grew up in Texas and went to the "Hemisfair" in the late 60's twice. Brother and I bought a ride around the park in an H-34 for 5 bucks. I was 13 I think, he was 11. Mother really didn't want us to go but relented. Was awesome. The Riverwalk was very nice in the 60's.
