Contemplating a return now that I finally have decent Internet again and I'm configuring my X52 Pro (I couldn't find the setup file on my old PC). I have the pinky trigger on the stick set to toggle zoom and the game doesn't seem to recognize it consistently - it lights up button 5 in the joystick properties tab in Windows but in the game when I pull it nothing happens, if I'm in joystick setup it doesn't even light up in the list of buttons. OTOH last night when I set it up it worked. Any advice?

I assume it's not a bad cord/connector (always my default assumption with the X52 series) since it works in Windows.

Double check to see if it is mapped to some other button. You can go to the settings folder in the game and open each controller .jsm file in notebook to check if anything is mapped to another button which would cause the issue you describe.

Thanks, but no joy. I also tried canceling the key and button that activate WEP and mapping the pinky trigger to that, and it didn't work in flight. It seems like the game just isn't recognizing that the trigger is being pulled even though Windows does.

You nay nit find joy.
He x52 has had ongoing issues with pinky. In some games it works fine, not all. My experience with AH it is intermittent, sometimes not at all. If there us a fix/workaround I haven’t found it. But I gave read issues from other users in other games.

It will test fine in Windows, not sure the issue in games.

Others may have had opposite experiences.

X52 for years..always used the pinky for wep..never an issue

I didn't use an external program but programmed it in game only..

Well, I no longer own it. But you could be correct/fix. I did run mine in the siftware because it was so worn out it needed every tweak available.

Good point.

It gets weirder. I knew I had it working at one point, it turns out that the pinky trigger works if the joystick properties window is open behind the game but not if it isn't. A few other functions like the mode selection knob on the right of the stick are the same way. Unfortunately having that open also affects the function of several keyboard keys, specifically making the 2 key select mode 2 instead of moving to the #2 gunner position and causes some CTDs when trying to leave the bombsight view.

Also I'm not programming the stick outside of the game, I just mean the game controller properties window that has a light for each button that lights when you press that button.

Ya I've seen this. Something else didn't work right if that window was closed,... I just closed it and gutted my way through it.  I forgot about that issue
