a suggestion for map makers

Maybe there is already a map with this setup, but here goes:

Why?

There could be both an air and ground battle in the center, as the front line vehicle bases can be captured.  They can't however, be easily held by a swarm of locusts that immediately abandons it on the way to the next base.  This could promote longer battles.

The vehicle hangar at the uncaptureable bases can be destroyed, buying 15 minutes to take or hold the V base it spawns into.  That could also be a regular hot spot for buffs and buff hunters.

Even if the numbers are low or nothing is happening on your side, it would be a quick trip to action with your bases so close to both enemy countries.

There is still incentive to take the center vehicle bases, because there would be a spawn into another air base.  But that next base would have no outgoing spawn, to prevent the standard cascade of steamrolled bases.

An addendum not pictured: there would be two spawns from each vehicle base into the center of the map, giving another route around stubborn campers.

That is actually a very similar to set up to the furball island on one of the island maps, cant think of the name. It makes for decent fights in off hours and can keep the flow going but I feel it takes away from the rest of the map.

I really liked the set up for one of Festers maps. It was basically

Field
Vh base
Vh base
Field

In a string pattern so bacially 2 VH bases in between 2 fields. This made the fights abundant with all styles of play.

I would like to see lot maps that had three country fight opportunities. The worker night we Rooks were helping the low number Knights defend against a Bish horde. Was old school fun. Used to be a lot of country collaborations.
Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

This is my wish a well, together with old radar, everyone knows where the fight is, and even have to check their 6 again, instead of current all-seeing radar.

My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.

Interesting layout, might be worth working up a test map to check it out. The Fester map was a 512X512 map, not enough players for that now, imho.

It still played better than Oceania, bowlma, craterMA and even buzzsaw despite its size. All due to the layout. A smaller more compact similar version would be a good idea. It created paths to action for all play styles in the same area, and that's why I think it worked so well.

I've tried to incorporate a similar structure in two new maps:  Greenisles and Hexrock.  The center fields of Greenisles are intended to force two attacking sides to compete for the same pathway to expand into a defending side.  The center island of Hexrock groups three sides close together and uses Vbases as pathways to surrounding fields.  Of course, you never know how any map design will play.

(Both maps are on the server if anyone wants to check them out.  Suggestions are welcome.)
