Build sheet says 3 4way hat switches
Top left hat switch has a push in function can that change views to 8 way?

I believe that is correct. It can go from an axis to an 8 way with the push, and indicator light will tell you which mode you're in. Labeled A1.
It's really a bummer that the bottom center hat (A3) is not an 8 way as that is more traditional. Can't even make it an 8 way as movement is blocked, I don't know if the switch can be replaced with other parts to make it functional as an 8 way. I use the top right (A4) as trim up/down.
