only the weak and binary celebrate the death of the saw.

A lot of folks continue to miss out on the game within the game.

May the baaaahhhh be with you, always

Well, the shape made it look like an arcade game. If ya come from other sims and that probably looks worse. Its not going to draw one single simmer. I was here when these maps came out, they were a turn off to me, it crushed immersion that its a sim played as s game. It actually started my fade out yrs ago.

Unfortuneatly, like several things its way too late

If it wasn't for fighters many wouldn't be playing this game..

Glad to see some enjoy bombers and gv's...that's like watching paint dry for some of us..

Eagler

Depends on the group GVing. I like to go in with a plan if there’s a few guys to flank, push, distract but there’s not much fun with a GV in this game anymore with the numbers and size of the maps. Buff missions I like so I can support base takes higher alts because the 88s are far too accurate and too strong in comparison to how they should function but it’s a game I get it.

I de ack and spot with fighters that’s about it and then the occasional hoe then ram tactic because I am terrible in fighters with little interest in them.

Western side of the map was always put in a disadvantage as they would be essentially cut off. Factories on the Western front were also most likely to get pummeled

That's absolutely true but ought'nt be the point.

Were people having fun on that map?
Was that map being up pushing away players?

A lot if not most players during prime time want to have a fun fight and don't care much if they win or lose a map.

Mindanao provided them that. And if they really cared that their side was being pummeled, they could easily switch sides and be the pummellers (word)? Which the fight guys probably would not have minded in the slightest, since there were now more bad guys to kill.

Say what you want about Buzzsaw (I loved it), but I get the arguments against keeping it in rotation.

Mindanao? Not at all.

Im sure the players on the side of the map that was always getting pummeled were not having fun.

Also, while we all love "Kenai" I doubt Hitech is just taking his work on everything. My guess is that he can check the numbers and see if what Kenai and many of us said about the maps.

Can't flank with GV dar.

Wait does it move in the grid if you go more right or left? If so that is ridiculous! DAR is in general I guess more of a reason I’m probably done with this game. So many voicing how it could improve and plenty with good ideas or input just wish it would be heard but oh well. Everything comes and everything goes.

I THINK (recklessly) that Dwnundr map (if it ever gets put in rotation) could be a good replacement for Mindanao, more balanced, just a touch bigger, a small landmass.

I liked Mindanao, but from what I understand it was designed more for scenarios/events (?). It wasn't truly balanced, even tho it provided tighter battles.

I was here when those older maps came out. But when Pizza and what I call Grapefruit and Buzzsaw were implemented I was just beside myself asking why!?,... WHY!? They played ok, but just looked too symmetrical and unnatural,...arcade-ish.

I think your problem is you are taking things to literally. This isnt WWII, its a game that uses WWII type equipment. Some concessions have to be for game play.

A bit about the GV dar. In the screen capture below, square 1 and 2 show that there is at least 1 GV in each square. In this picture a GV has just crossed out of box 2 which made the square for box 1 pop up. Each square is about 2.5 miles on each side (5.5 square miles) tanks are big but that is still a lot of space. Having 3 tanks advancing in a line could be 2.5 miles across for one box, or in two boxes, 5 miles across. not bad for flanking or using the box as a distraction. Having 2 boxes advancing , one strait on, and the other swinging to one side splits the attention. One box could have 5 tanks and the other only a wirble doing an end-around. Using the dar boxes to your advantage can work.

Its all about knowing the game and how to use what is available. Sneaking up on a base isnt going to work by yourself, but hiding a couple buddies in that same box can surprise someone trying to slow you down
