Dying in a tank
« on: Today at 12:31:11 AM »
This ticks me off to no end, explain this!

Im in a t34, hoping to defend a town and it is taken before I get half way there. No problem, Ill hunt M3s until they all bail/land.

Kermit is busy the area looking for me and drops a couple bombs but clearly misses. First two M3 make a good landing and then Notar comes out with an M3 to find me. OK, find him first and hit him a bunch with my pinle gun. He loops around and because I cant hear crap due to Kermit over head I cant find Notar again. Next thing I know I lose either an engine and next hit Im in the tower.

I thought a T34 was a bit tougher than that.

WTF? https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,411541.msg5457541.html#msg5457541

This is what just ticks me off about the GV game.

He was using the 75mm version of the M3, no different than dieing to a Sherman.  You showed your butt to it which makes it even easier.

Iron or Tmann use to be a master in the 75mm M3.

A side note.  Even if the bombs missed there could be accumulated damage.  I have had my M4 killed by a 50 cal on an M3 but I think most damage came from near miss bombs.

On the T34.  What is not modeled is poor reliability of the russian tanks.  They should have some sort of perk point like 5-10.

There is no accumulation of damage as in total tank HP, just parts of the tank.  You killed the M4 because it has weak spots in its armor that an 50 cal can penetrate, not because of any prior bomb damage.

What size round is in a pinal gun on a T34? I hit him a number of times and while he has the upscaled gun, I dont think it upscales the armor.

It is more likely my lack of knowledge about tanks in the game. I find it very frustrating I get killed most time in one shot and yet when I do land a hit its almost never a kill. I am truly surprised when ever I get a kill on a vehicle.

Its about round placement, all tanks in the game will die in one shot with a well placed round.  Armor angle is a thing.  The T34 pintle is only a 7.62mm, not very heavy round, intended for infantry.
