I’m matching their energy. You and fugitive had tried to assist with the glitch issues but as I mentioned it had never went away even with the attempts being made. I sent a film awhile back before Cat7 disappeared but multi other recordings of odd issues have corrupt films that do not load. I also added those films or atleast one that someone else had crash on their AHfilm viewer. I’m matching energy’s not trolling, but I gave it a few months after being gone so long but the lack of change with these loop holes people take advantage off, extremely unbalanced numbers, and the ability to clearly cheat in this game after seeing it done made me decide it was a mistake.
I’ll always match their negative energy but YOU and fugitive were as helpful as possible.
We don’t select who we try to help, we want everyone to have a chance to play at a competitive level. Anything else is a side issue.
There are some here a little over-sensitive to every word posted. To many, this IS their life, its “home”, literally. So that said, when one comes to the bbq openly complaining about the food it stirs a nerve. So, wording matters a lil more than usual. It can be very cliquish here with some.
Some put everyone under a microscope. Some on the war path have said worse than you. But they see it as their house so its “ok”.
My first impression of the title of the other thread was possible game thrashing trolls we get, AND HAVE. It had the MO.
For someone to label you as a kid is itself a childish approach and should not have sharp objects. Its an insult begging a negative response, gas on a fire. Ignore him.
OTOH, try not to come to the bbq insulting the home of a highly devoted audience. They do bite, and I myself can be the worst of them.
The status of the game is in suspended animation. HTC office has shrink to just HT. Its a 26 yr old game, last major update was 2019-ish. However, what we have HT, he has suffered some family and health issues, he’s not always available. He has tweaked and stabilized it well beyond most games. Big updates bring big bugs. Like all games there will be work-arounds, things to ignore.
You’d be very hard pressed to find this kind of action in almost any other sim, we just have aging graphics. The game itself is solid, or we wouldn’t be here for 26 yrs. There is no sim like it. An “outsider” bashing it will get nukes by the “insiders” who bash it daily.
Technical issue is not a game bug, it’s a rare machine specific problem. I can’t imagine its something we can’t fix. It has the feeling of a corrupt file, game or Windows.
I think we did a fresh install, I’m not convinced it was clean. Personally I would uninstall and remove all traces of steam and AH even the Settings folder. Totally fresh install.
If you use Steam for other games I MAY even go look in user/appdata and delete that Steam folder if it exist, before a fresh re-install.
If the problem still exist then I may suggest its a Windows issue. I posted a checklist of settings to try one at a time. If one triggers a change then we have the canned answer for future like issues. This helps others too. Its a new problem fir us, so we are interested in what it is.
We want everyone having a clean chance to even start any opinion of the game, as is.
If you get frustrated don’t vent here, PM Fugi or me and lets get through it quietly. Venting here as a “new guy@ can get responses that can repulse vultures, this is their home.
These players gave know each other for decades, they have fought world wars with cat scratch fever with each other. And like all families, an outsider steps into it and they join forces for the bonfire.
We are willing to help anyone.
