Has anyone setup something that would run  F19, SWOTL and the Microprose stuff like BoB and Srike Eagle III? Wow, I'm having flashbacks to Megafortress lol.

You will need an operating system that can support running the DOS4GW 32bit extender.

Win98SE had great DOS performance and many games had limited choice of sound hardware support.

IRQ and DMA settings choices within the games themselves might limit you the most.

The motherboard choice must be able to use HARDWARE IRQ and DMA settings expected and this is the biggest hurdle.

I moved to XP media center edition and tried various modules meant to emulate this hardware but found control input latency issues and some sound issues.

My last rig that had the hardware instead of emulation was a KT7Araid motherboard with a quality sound blaster soundcard.

Now some manufacturers still build industrial motherboards with an ISA slot but you have to be careful about whether it truly has the ability to run what the older games require.

Maybe emulation has gotten less buggy and laggy…..,.haven’t checked in years.

I have a PC set aside that has Win98 on it just for playing old games.

Probably not worth the effort..

It was cutting edge when we first played those titles..not so much anymore..

Graphics will be sure to disappoint..

You can play it online via a virtual dos box

This would be cool if I could get it to work. It looked like it was going to work but then a bunch of add froze up on my screen and the browser froze.

You can buy it on Steam for $6.99 and avoid any config issues. $1.19 on Gog right now. That's for F19. F-117 may be more. Will ck. $4.19 on Gog for F-117. $6.99 on Steam.

I just tried it and it worked for me without any popups. I also use popup blockers through google chrome though

I bought the Amiga version of F-19 in the late 80's. Came with a plastic model. Better looking aircraft than the actual "Stealth fighter".

I still have my Amiga 1500 (500 with 1500 upgrade) from 1988-89, with probably +300 3,5" floppys with games and various programmes/demo's, big color printer and the whole shabang from the Amiga-era. The single AND double row discette-box, joystick (seethrough with red stick and buttons), tv modulator, dustcover for the machine, still have the original boxes for machine and printer.. Been thinking about maybe setting it up on a tv and check if any of the games still works. Have not been used at all since 1991. A real timecapsule back to the late 80's..

Wow! That's cool that you still have it!

I had an Amiga 500 with a bodega bay back in the day. It's the computer I actually started playing Airwarrior on. I upgraded to a 486 and an Amiga 3000 and had the 3000 until the early 2000s.

There are emulators for just about every machine that can be emulated. I take a look every now and then but the reality never lives up to the memory.

Sometimes just a bit of the music is enough.
