What's the best,  middle of the road priced Gaming PC available from a store that will work well in AH3.   Graphics,  speed,  etc.   I have a very old PC and this stuff is not in my wheelhouse.   ( Bestbuy,  Costco,  etc...)    Thanks in advance

I wish I would've known.  I would have sold you my old PC dirt cheap.  It's overkill for AH3 but doesn't meet requirements for new games.

Unless your budget is restricted I'd go for what's considered a medium class "gaming" pc.

are you planning on dipping your toes into VR ? That will raise requirements a bit.

i bought a pre-built from ibuypower 2 years ago for around 850.

its got an rx 6500 xt with an i3-12100f and runs a lot of games fairly well. i do plan on upgrading to an 8gb graphics card soon, but the 12th gen processor seems to hold up pretty well since i dont run a lot of processes at once. i also limit myself to 60fps because i dont care much more for the extra frames. biggest upgrade it needed (and got) was from 8gb ram to 32gb, which only cost around 70 bucks to do.

a lot of new gaming depends on whether the game has been optimized or not. i run a new MMO on high and it works great. this card is older, but it does support a dual monitor output

i3-12100f

I wouldn't upgrade this CPU unless it's for something very specific because I upgraded from this to a 12700 and saw less then a 10 fps increase in most of the games I play. Just an FYI

i was looking at a i5-14600KF specifically for more cores. i do really appreciate the power a single core on this processor can put out, but i tend to run a dual monitor set up most of the time with multiple applications running at once. im going to upgrade the graphics card to something like an rx 7700 xt at the same time. and definitely going to need a bigger power supply. i have a b660m-a ac d4 motherboard for reference. ive done research, but im struggling to figure out whats the most optimal build for this mb. id also like to experience AH in VR at some point in time.

a lot of newer games coming out arent very well optimized, so my current build tends to suffer. at least the bottlenecking happens on the GPU and not the CPU, but still. id like to play with a better setting than medium.

but also, im not as savvy as id like to think i am when it comes to PC builds.

Intel CPUs can suffer degraded performance in some games if left in park mode.

I have a PC I could sell you main, I’ll just need to hook it up and see what the specs are. I haven’t used it in a couple years and only upgraded because the graphics couldn’t keep up for “squad” but ran AH just fine

I have a pretty powerful PC I built about a year ago.  Even with a single screen, I have to turn off ground clutter on some maps.  Ground clutter and trees are really hard on a PC.

Sounds like something is wrong. I can crank everything to the max in offline practice with no issues. My system is about 4 - 5 years old, RTX 3070.

When you say powerful, do you mean powerful CPU or powerful GPU or both? I see people with stuff like 14900s who are using integrated graphics. Yes they have a "powerful" PC but it's not a powerful "gaming" machine.

There's nothing in AH3 that should slow that rig down even a little. Something's not right.

No kidding, I have a 12th gen i7 and 1080ti and can run AH full bore, including VR.

That is a strong rig and like the others said, there shouldn't be anything in AH3 to make it even warm up to normal operating temp.

I would double check stuff to make sure that you have the correct gpu selected and you're not somehow using an integrated GPU or something crazy.
