This is the second of the late war Soviet fighter skins requested by Devil.
This is the La-7 of Major Afanasy Petrovich Sobolev, CO of the 2nd Guards Fighter Regiment in 1945. Sobolev flew throughout the war, rising from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Colonel and was credited with between fourteen and seventeen victories. He died in a flying accident in 1958. His La-7 had the red nose and Guards badges common to his squadron's aircraft. The inscription is dedicated to the gold miners of the Shilkinsky district where Solovev was born and who donated his aircraft.
