When ya have nothing use your canned go-to insults

Lets talk about weirdo hair of those in charge. Chronic projection there.  The weakest hypocrisy to sustain denial, saving face.

Why are you trying to insert political speak in a thread again..
To be fair, the whole premise of the thread is political in nature. It's one of the same people who walks the fine line of politics to get a rise out of people. See: a troll.

If the OP genuinely wants to know what various prices are, they can look at a map and get the current average gas price for any particular area in the entire country along with exact prices at specific stations. No need to post just to get anecdotal information from 10 people on the internet.

Except that often times the reasons for gas prices being what they are, are far from "anecdotal" and worthy  discussion.

As the OP you have invoked I would advise you kindly that there is nothing on this board that cannot be gleaned elsewhere. Gas prices and other things going down is a good thing. Do you not like conversing about our improving situation? If not then I invite you to refrain from participation.

If the decline in high prices makes you unhappy because of your politics then I suggest you get new politics.

It's not projected but no one knows what the future holds exactly. Only certainties, death and taxes.

I agree with that sentiment, but lower prices aren't always a good thing.

Prices will drop in a deflationary spiral in a Depression.  I'd call that a Pyric Victory.

I'll tell you this:  the Fed has much worse nightmares about deflationary spirals than inflationary spirals.  They have some powerful tools against inflation. They are almost powerless against deflation.  At least in this country.  Negative interest rates are generally considered illegal here.

Government spending, or over spending, is the primary driver of inflation. If we can control that inflation will slow. There are some prices that skyrocketed recently ($5/doz eggs) and those falling back to normal levels is not a protent of depression.

I didn't say the current prices are a potent of a depression, just that lower prices doesn't always indicate a enjoyable outcome.

Gov spending is one factor but not the only one.

Quote
What actually causes inflation (at a high level)
Inflation happens when aggregate demand persistently exceeds aggregate supply or when production costs rise broadly. The main drivers fall into four buckets:
Monetary conditions (money & credit)
Supply-side constraints
Demand shocks (public and private)
Expectations & feedback loops
Government spending lives in bucket #3 — important, but not dominant on its own.

Friedman always believe inflation was primarily a Monetary phenomena and not gov fiscal spending though many factors contribute.

For instance the German hyper-inflation was not caused by excessive gov spending, it was from losing workers and production capacity.  (i.e. Supply Shock).

The recent inflation was cause by 20 years of deranged loose money supply.
Started under Greenspan.
Exploded during GFC bailouts and later COVID checks.  Soon to be exacerbated further with Tariff Checks.

Too much free money chasing a limit supply of goods that also was already suffering a supply shock due to COVID disruptions.  The egg thing was a bird flu phenomena (i.e. Supply Shock).
