Voice Actors of the 1980s Animated TV Shows
« on: December 08, 2025, 08:46:24 PM »
I just started rewatching Transformers on Tubi.  It's been 40 years since and everything just feels like no time has past.  22-minute episodes are great when eating meals.  Last year, I rewatched GI Joe.

I've noticed that voices were familiar.  I found a website that has the breakdown for the characters and their voice actors.

GI Joe

Transformers
https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/tv-shows/The-Transformers/

You will see the primary 3 voice actors playing various roles in both series.

For those of us as kids in the 80s, there was nothing better than getting home from school and watching these two shows in the afternoon.

As an adult and knowing way more about life and the world, you can't help to smile and laugh at the absurd stories and military antics.  Court-martials would be a full-time thing.  That's why it was for kids and drunks. :devil

If you had an opportunity to voice characters, which ones would you want?

GI Joe:
Breaker - Communications to be the voice of calm, like Ben Stein's style of monotone

Cobra:
Cobra Commander - go overboard on being completely insane

Autobot:
Grimlock - no need for complete sentences, real caveman talk

Decepticon:
Shockwave - regal and specific
