DirectX11 screen freezes

Started 6 + months ago and only affects the Dx11. These freezes last  3-4 seconds. Am told it's related to a Windows update. Have yet to have it occur in Dx9.  Is there a fix?

Max, you didn't mention if you're using VR.  If you're not using VR, use 9. 11 is for VR.

Nope. no VR. Tried it and loved the immersion but it was a huge strain on my eyes.

We were hunting with vigor to figure it out, no joy. Its been happening since 11 came out according to HT. Can’t figure it out if its nvidia or windows conflict with DX. Nvidia is prime suspect

Many other games have the same issue.

I have been having the same issue for a while now. Also have been looking for a solution for some time.

I'm now using an all amd machine, running win11, and dx9. I was having the same issue on a win10 machine running intel cpu, and amd gpu, also running dx9.

Personally, I feel like it's a windows issue. It seems to me that it started after a windows update. I've been searching for a solution, but have yet to find one. It's not just an AH problem. If you search screen freezes, or screen stuttering you get a bunch of fix videos.

If you find a solution post it here so the rest of us can get the fix.

I had this issue, and it was literally windows updating. I have an older pc, and I noticed whenever I was having mini screen freezes, it was usually because something else was updating. Got a new PC now.

Trees and ground clutter can stall even a strong pc.   hit control-I to watch your FPS. 

Other games solve heavy graphics load by limiting drawn graphics that are not in view.
