I believe the only true way to test a pilots skill is within a tournament or ladder.  However, I think the first 4 sets of 5 should be alternating pilots choice, but both parties must fly the same plane in each bracket at the same time otherwise, you might as well just fly in Main arena.  The last flight of the 5 should be "pilots choice" on both sides.

Instead of reading :"Combatants agree on what planes will be flown (they do not have to be similar)."

I think it should read: "Combatants will takes turns on deciding what planes BOTH parties are to fly in each bracket, with exception of the last (5th) bracket, being pilots choice on both sides.

You may be right, Ripsnort. Still, I think I'm going to let it ride for now (since it is already posted). This is the first one I'm running, and I'm sure I will make mistakes.   If it doesn't work out this time I will change that point next time.

One problem with that Ripsnort.
How we ever gonna agree on a single plane to fly, we all proficient in different planes, with different flying styles.
I for one dont wanna be forced into a single type of plane that I might not have as much flight time in as my opponent.
