Where in the Euro press in Aces High?

Good to see this monument to online gaming launched and flying. Well done to all involved and I can see from the posts the passion from the old days of WB is still around. Don't lose it, good or bad, it can't be ignored!

Been looking in the computer/gaming press over the past couple of months here in England and havn't seen anything about AH. Nor in the French, German, Dutch, Spanish or Russian mags.... did I miss somthing? Wonder if someone could point me to any articles for my scrapbook. Would hate to think that with all this work, the only people taking an interest were the Americans. Don't want to be making the same mistakes as with Wild Bill do we :-)

I know we've lost the war and we are a very little power   but actually the leading italian Aviation Magazine "Volare" has published a nice review of AH in the Dicember 1999 issue (guess who was the writer  ).

During AH beta we had some 50 reckless italian pilots flying togheter. Now we are about 25-30 in 2 squadrons.

Here, AH is very well known, too bad it is WIN-only and too much expensive for some young guys.

When AH was still in Beta I sent reviews to all major german pc games magazines but got no feedback. I think the online sim community is underrepresented in those magazines. They write specials about UO, Everquest, AC etc... but nothing about AW3, Warbirds (well, this is the only sim I heard about in a mag), AH - been posting in all major german/swiss games forums - no effect... seems we are just a small bunch of crazy people who deny all those mainstream shooters...   (heheh well I play HL quite a lot) - It seems like the mags don't like sims - realistic sims that is - they say noone will read a 500p. manual.. who cares if every button is at the right place with the right function --- I DO!!

sad but true - we have to rely on the specialized pages on the I-Net...

Kirin,

you are right about OL *SIM* market being underrepresented. Go to www.pcplayer.de  and follow the "forum" link - quite a long and interesting thread about PCPlayer's Gunshit! test and the "Schnelle-Mafia" (for our foreign readers: the last name of the two brothers who write simulation tests in the #2 and #3 paper gaming magazine is 'Schnelle').

Alas, PCP has a half page article about AH in their current (May) issue, PCG had about 1/8 page in their april issue.

Dancer out.
