HTC an idea for the community

Hazed and I were talking on open channel today about a book we both have concerning the Luftwaffe during WW2.

I've noticed that many that use AH are voracious readers on the subject of world war 2 aircraft, tactics, and the like.

I usually order books through amazon.com....and HTC was wondering, maybe HTC could cut a deal with amazon.com concerning AH participants?  sort of you advertise here, you give us a discount on books ordered etc.  could set up a series of books pertaining different subjects concerning wW2 aircraft tactics and the like.

what do you think???  or am I over stepping my bounds here.  If so I apologize <G>  would be great for both amazon and HTC, amazon could advertise Aces High!

think of it , everytime someone orders a book on aircraft at amazon.com aces high could be advertised to those ordering the book or books.

I think that's a great idea.  Of course, I think most things that save me money are a great idea    I wonder how easy/hard this would be to do?

I think it'd be easier if HTC puts an AMAZON banner & get money for every book purchased when that link is clicked.

Extra money to buy HT his scotch doesnt sound that bad eh? Remember, the man codes faster when stoned

This is standard operating procedure for Amazon if it is dealing directly with the book supplier, I have friends that sell their self-published books through Amazon, complete with discounts and advertising perks.  In this case though, HTC would just be the middle-man between the publisher and Amazon so I'm not sure what deals they would work.  In my experience though, Amazon is very flexible and makes lots of special arrangements for lots of people.

I say, great idea, give it a shot!

Amazon.com has a procedure for their books reselers. If you put book link on your site, and someone who came by this link buy the book -- you get some percentage (5% I think, not sure though). So, if HTC will put one page with "recommended" books, they can make some money.

Other question is if they need it. You can pay attention that for example they do not use banner advertisements on their site, though it could bring them more money than what you suggest. It seems beeing some sort of company policy -- to concentrate on making money by providing subscriptions ONLY. At least it seems so.
