X46 Vs X36
« on: January 12, 2002, 05:05:44 PM »
Hey all, I have trouble finding the X45 in Sweden. Found a homepage where I can buy the X36 for about 110-120 US dollars + some shipment within Sweden.

Now, I've read revies about teh X45, some give it better grade then the X36, some worse. I've read posts in here, some say X45 better, better feel etc, some say the exact opposit.

What's the difference, what's the "stick centering" thing on the X45 everybody is talking about? Do the both sticks have the same number of buttons and hats? Both USB and Digital?

Allso read that the X36 is suposed to be more durable, then again, read something about a hat breaking down. Allso read that the X45 is much smoother, I NEED HELP! Wich one should I choose?

I can get the X36 within a few days, while, If I want the X45 I might have to have someone send it to me (had a couple of very nice offers) so the price would be about the same for the two.

Using X36 here, no problems at all even using SGE3.0 and DX8.1.
Its rudder implementation is really bad but you can use CH pedals without problems.
I have the USB version of X36 and an old joy attached to the gameport of the motherboard, this old joy has attached the old version of CH Pro-Pedals. I use them selecting the second joy (rudder axis) as the axis for AH rudders and found no compatibility problems at all.
Now you have even a third party driver to use the new USB CH-ProPedals as part of the X36 instead as a separate joy.

Thanks, using the pedals I have now with anoter stick too, works fine with games that suport 2 or more sticks. That stick is getting spikey though so it's getting harder and harder to aim good. I will download the file wich enables you to connect the Analog pedals to the X36 USB pedals.

Oh yeha, I ordered the X36 USB and will hopefully get it this week :)

Wilbus, AFAIK, that file/driver is to have USB CH ProPedals (not analog one) as part of the X36F/X35T. The problem is that with that driver you cant use SGE to configure your X36.
If you use analog pedals you dont need anything but having them connected to your old joy configuring that as a second joy. This configuration works fine with AH or IL2.
AFAIK you can also buy CH Pro USB, configure it as a second joy and have the same effect as with the analog ones connected to your old joy.

To configure the pedals as the rudder in a game that support only one joy, you only need that game to be able to configure controls via dx inputs, like IL2. You select rudder, you move the rudder attached to the second you and it is recorded as the control to be used as rudder even not seeing the second joy as an option for the game.

CC Mando, However, there is a file (3 files actually) wich you can download. Install them and edit some files, alows you connect to normal Analog pedals directly to the Game port without a second stick, then the program finds the pedals and makes windows and the games think that the pedals are actually the same as the X36 stick. Thus the pedals will work in games wich don't suport 2 sticks aswell :)

Allso, I can get rid of my spikey old analog stick.
